It was placed well on an international scale and had multiple accommodation choices. It’s also in a safe area and has a lively student life.
I found the campus easier to navigate around than I had feared. The uni also had a surprising amount of societies and clubs which was an added bonus!
I love that Southampton perfectly combines the old school harbor town on which the uni was founded with updated modern facilities. I also enjoy the number of parks and picnic areas available.
Valley Gardens! So few students make use of this beautiful area which is a perfect place to enjoy lunch or a morning coffee! My second favorite would be the koi fish pond in the Psychology building! Another hidden treasure to relax between lectures.
Making so many friends from different backgrounds and actively engaging in as many societies as I could find time for!
Yes, because of the wonderful staff that work hard to make internationals feel at home, the multitude of societies that guarantee you’ll find something you enjoy, and the social events organized by the uni to ensure we meet others and can engage fully during our studies here!
My degree has helped me go into an exclusive MBA/Masters in International Hospitality program in the Netherlands that is ranked 4th in the World and only accepts 25 people a year!
If you’re a business student I can highly recommend going to the week cakes/coffee meetings! Not only do you get free food but you get the chance to network with experienced businessmen and women and get to know the staff outside of lectures which I find helps immensely when it comes to having them as your supervisors!
