AECC University College (formerly known as Anglo-European College of Chiropractic) was established in 1965 as the first chiropractic school in Europe, and is also one of the world's leading institutions offering a chiropractic education in a dynamic and state-of-the-art environment.

Chiropractic is one of the fastest growing health professions in Europe and America, and is a recognised and rewarding profession with good job opportunities. Chiropractors have the expertise to diagnose and treat a variety of musculoskeletal disorders. AECC University College offers a number of bachelor's and master's programmes in chiropractic. The most popular programme is the five-year degree Masters in Chiropractic (MChiro), which gives you as a student the knowledge and skills to safely treat patients and to obtain a highly recognised degree.

By studying at AECC University College, you will not only benefit from groundbreaking facilities, but also from world-class academic expertise. Facilities at AECC University College include a separate training clinic with 33 treatment rooms, an MRI scanner and a fitness centre. The clinic performs over 50,000 treatments a year.

At AECC University College, you will receive a degree that is internationally accredited and recognised, and that will give you the opportunity to work anywhere in the world. Graduated students work with everything from top athletes to children and the elderly, in addition to the rest of the population.

AECC University College has its own Students' Union with a number of sports teams and other societies. There is a student bar and gym on campus. AECC University College is affiliated with Bournemouth University, so you as a student can also benefit from their  support services. More than half of AECC's students come from countries other than the UK, and the institution boasts a friendly atmosphere where you will quickly feel at home.

Student accommodation

AECC University College does not have its own student housing on campus, so students must arrange private housing near the campus. Fortunately, it is a very well-adapted housing market with many serious and friendly players who are well accustomed to international students. Each year, the AECC compiles its own housing guide to help students find housing.

Location

AECC University College is located in Bournemouth, a beautiful city in the south of England, approx. two hours by train from London. Bournemouth is known for its long and award-winning beaches, which stretch a total of 12 km along the south coast of England, and is one of the most popular summer towns in the country.

The city itself has around 200,000 inhabitants, with a very active city centre. Here you will find large, well-known companies, but also the real British culture with a drip of summer, shopping and tourism. The city is known for a good and varied nightlife, with many clubs, bars and famous restaurants. The sum of this gives Bournemouth a perfect balance between the busy city life, and the relaxing and rural. It is easy to find both peace of mind and social opportunities.

For the AECC, it is an advantage that the football team AFC Bournemouth is a stone's throw away, and plays in the Premier League. The university has a good collaboration with the club, and contributes official services to the players through their "Player Performance" collaboration.

Bournemouth is also a festival city, and there is really no shortage of festivals, concerts and gatherings of various kinds. Between the iconic Bournemouth Air Festival, to the Arts by the Sea Festival, there are many and varied events. You have the great and established artists at Bournemouth International Centre, and if you like the young and forward-thinking, then you have the Bournemouth Emerging Arts Festival to look forward to.

In everyday life, the city has everything you would expect from a city in England. There is shopping with cinemas, bars, and restaurants welded together with hospitality and good British culture, which you can expect from one of the country's best summer towns. At the same time you have a fantastic nature a stone's throw away from your home, here everything is arranged for a fantastic time of your life.

The information on this page has been submitted by the higher education institution itself, and it varies how frequently they update it. If you want to know more, get in touch and one of our student advisors will answer all your questions!

Across the Pond is the official representative for this teaching institution for selected countries around the world which means we can help you apply to their courses and help with all the documents needed to submit an application. We can help answer questions about their courses and the institution itself as they do not necessarily have the capacity to deal with student enquiries from all around the world on a daily basis. This also means that they can ask us questions about your application and we can help explain if they are not familiar with your grades, academic background or the educational system in your home country. They also appreciate that students who apply through Across the Pond get the help they need, not only in terms of submitting the application and supporting documents, but also with everything needed before arrival in the UK, such as student accommodation, visa information, funding information and well as preparing for departure to the UK.
