The University has one of the top employment rates in the UK with 95% of BNU graduates in, or about to start, employment or further study within 15 months of graduation (HESA). Bucks Students’ Union was again ranked as one of the top five in the NSS. BNU’s partnership with the Students’ Union will give you many different opportunities to try new things, develop new skills and make friendships for life. We invest heavily in the SU to ensure that almost all their activities are free of charge because we believe there should be no barriers to embracing all that university life offers.
Being a responsible corporate citizen is also incredibly important to the University. BNU strive to make a positive impact within its local communities and on the environment. That’s why BNU has pledged to go carbon net zero by 2030, 20 years ahead of the government’s target. You’ll have a breadth of opportunities to volunteer your time to make a difference to the causes that matter to you. I invite you to see for yourself what makes Buckinghamshire New University such a special and vibrant place.
The ‘new’ in Buckinghamshire New University does not represent our age. In fact, BNU recently celebrated its 130th birthday! Originally founded as the School of Science and Art, with the motto By Art & Industry, Skill and Energy, the University has always had forward-thinking approaches to it’s academic ambitions. The new stands for our approach to teaching: At BNU, the focus is on learning by practice and employability, which is why all courses are constantly being updated to reflect changes in the industry, and to make sure the practical skills you learn and the knowledge you accumulate will help you land your dream career.
Location - High Wycombe
With it’s main campus in the Buckinghamshire town of High Wycombe, the University is ideally located within a small, vibrant English town, whilst being right next to the capital of England, London. With only a 25 minute direct train to the capital cities centre, our location bridges the gap between affordable living and the hustle and bustle of the big city with its plethora of opportunities.
Next door to the campus is the Eden centre, a shopping centre made up of over 100 stores, from high-end fashion brands to boutique cafes. Not just for shopping, the Eden Centre is also where a lot of BNU students go to for part-time work. And because High Wycombe is a ‘university town’, local employers always respect that your education comes first, meaning your work will never interfere with your study.
Also found nearby is The Rye, a 53-acre park that’s less than a 2-minute walk from campus. Beyond that, High Wycombe is also home to the Hellfire Caves, a man-made series of caverns extending 260m below sea level.
Aviation & Pilot Studies – The greatest testament to our practical-based learning is BNU’s offer of degrees for aspiring pilots. Whether your dream is to fly for commercial airlines, or become a private or helicopter pilot, BNU offers all 3 as a full Bachelor’s degree with Honours, and thanks to our connection with UK flight schools that offers affordable flying lessons, graduates don’t just receive a degree, but also a frozen pilot’s licence, thanks to your timetable being specifically designed to allow you to get up in the air and learn what it really means to be a pilot.

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE?
The information on this page has been submitted by the higher education institution itself, and it varies how frequently they update it. If you want to know more, get in touch and one of our student advisors will answer all your questions!
Across the Pond is the official representative for this teaching institution for selected countries around the world which means we can help you apply to their courses and help with all the documents needed to submit an application. We can help answer questions about their courses and the institution itself as they do not necessarily have the capacity to deal with student enquiries from all around the world on a daily basis. This also means that they can ask us questions about your application and we can help explain if they are not familiar with your grades, academic background or the educational system in your home country. They also appreciate that students who apply through Across the Pond get the help they need, not only in terms of submitting the application and supporting documents, but also with everything needed before arrival in the UK, such as student accommodation, visa information, funding information and well as preparing for departure to the UK.
