STUDY AT UNIVERSITY OF ABERDEEN  

Founded in 1495, the University of Aberdeen is Scotland's third oldest university and the fifth oldest in the UK. The university has 15,000 students from more than 130 nationalities – making it a truly international experience. The university is located in third largest city in Scotland, Aberdeen. With direct flights via London and Amsterdam, it is easy to get to and offers a great experience on and off campus for students. There is over 350 UG degrees and 150 PG degrees, so there is something for everyone.  

Students particularly enjoy the historic campus, modern accommodation, sports facilities and library. Students can walk from campus into the city centre in 20 minutes and to the beach in 15 minutes. There is plenty going on in the city, from art galleries, museums and music venues to shops, nightlife and restaurants offering global cuisines. 
 

HISTORY OF UNIVERSITY OF ABERDEEN 

The University of Aberdeen was founded in 1495. As the years went on the university offered more and more degrees. The university is in the historic part of the city of Aberdeen so offers beautiful historic buildings, but the university has invested in modern facilities such as accommodation, the library and the new Science teaching hub.

The university offers ensuite, shared bathroom accommodation. All bedrooms are single occupancy. Students can choose to live in apartments with smaller groups of flatmates or larger groups. There is 24/7 security, support and advice in the student accommodation. 

There is a small convenience store to get necessities, as well as central social spaces for students to choose – such as music room, TV room, games room, music room and sports hall.

Students can enjoy bowling, cinemas, museums, art galleries, café’s, restaurants, bars and nightlife in the city centre which is only a 20 minute walk from campus or a short 5/10 minute bus.  

If you like experiencing the outdoors, you can get to the beach within a 15 minute walk from campus. Or you can drive out of the city for about half an hour and see many castles, mountains, Lochs and countryside.
