Crossing half of the world has been difficult but studying in the UK has been worth it. The educational system here in the UK is incredible. Across the Pond help me found the perfect University for Automotive Engineering and help me realize the University of Hertfordshire was my best option since they have Formula Student, workshops, simulators and the classes are well focus on the motorsports world.
Living on campus has been a challenge but it has led me to meet new friends and looking out for myself. At the beginning it was challenging to arrange my new adult life with groceries and public transport but now its just part of my fun routine. The advantage is that I am a few steps away from my classes and the university truly looks out for every student’s wellbeing. My accommodation is a decent size bedroom with all the basic furniture and services. I share a kitchen with other 5 flatmates.
UK is the heart of Motorsports, so being able to study here has been always my dream. Also, I joined the Formula Student team here at my university and I have learned an incredible number of new skills and knowledge.
On the other hand, in me free time I travel to London since the university is only 35 min away by train, so I get to discover all London’s secret and beautiful places on the weekends. I´ve been having fun learning how all the public transport works here in the UK.
Lastly, having this course in my second language has been less difficult than I expected. I was really impressed by the percentage of international students across the campus, even the professors are international and that has allowed me to easily transition into studying in English.
Thank you Across the Pond for making all this possible and for helping in all the University admission process, because being an international student sometimes makes it a bit confusing. My advisor was constantly pending on my applications and any doubts or inquiries were answered right away, especially when communicating between me and the university.

I am studying in the UK for the first time for law school. I love learning and experiencing new things as a student and person. As a first-year law student, I have learned a lot about myself and my personal development.
The atmosphere of the university campus is a new experience for me, however; it is one that is helping me as an individual to understand how to grow as a new adult.
Studying in the UK has allowed me many opportunities, including travel, and meeting new people that forced me to look at things from a new perspective and through a new lens. Living only a short train ride away from Brighton has given me the freedom to experience the city as much as I want, but still have the choice to stay on campus if I want. That choice has allowed me to spend as much or as little time in Brighton as I want.
The university has been able to help me as a new international student and not be as worried about the new experience that I have this year. Many contacts have aided my knowledge of how to best my experience, and if I have any questions, I don’t feel alone in this experience.
Choosing to study abroad, and specifically study in the UK has opened up my perspective for the future, and the opportunities I have going forward.
