The University of East Anglia (UEA) is a campus university just two miles from the medieval city center of Norwich. The University is recognised for its academic and research achievements and attracts students from over 120 countries. Students enjoy a safe and pleasant environment that meets all of their academic, social, and recreational needs.

UEA was awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2017. UEA’s research is globally recognised and the university ranks 44th in the world for citations according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020 for research citations.

A wide range of programmes

UEA offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses under four faculties: Arts and Humanities, Health, Science, and Social Sciences. Our subjects frequently place in the top 20. Flagship programmes include the UK’s first School of Environmental Sciences and Creative Writing course. The professional education offered by our Schools of Business, Social Work, Medicine, Education, and Law are highly regarded. History, Film, Television and Media studies, Development Studies, and Physiotherapy are additional examples of our academic fortitude.

UEA’s campus was designed so that everything you need for living and studying is no more than a few minutes away. Our library is open 24/7, providing study, computer, social, and quiet areas. Students can do their shopping, banking, laundering, mailing, and shipping on campus. There are multiple places to eat, drink, and socialise with a lively, multi-cultural community.

Accommodation is scattered around the campus, each providing students with a shared kitchen and many single or some double-occupancy rooms. International students are guaranteed on-campus accommodation.

Campus features live music events, club nights, film screenings, and an array of student societies to join. UEA is home to the biggest indoor sports centre in Britain, the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts (featured as the Avengers HQ in some Marvel movies), and its own medical center and on-campus dentist.

Students also have access to support services, a multi-faith center, and careers services. UEA is investing £300 million in facilities for staff and students. In the summer of 2019, UEA opened a state-of-the-art teaching and learning building for Science and Engineering. The Sky House will open in 2022 as the home of Arts and Humanities and some Social Sciences schools.

Norwich is located just 1.5 hours from London by train, 30 minutes away from stunning beaches on the Norfolk coast, and 40 minutes by plane to Amsterdam. Norwich was voted one of the most vegan-friendly cities, and has a thriving arts community and a renowned music and cultural scene. Additionally, the city has been ranked as one of the premier shopping cities in the UK, offering a range of shops from independent boutiques to high street retailers such as Apple and Hollister.
