The Best of Creative Industries

At University College Falmouth we’re different. We stand out, and our students and graduates do too. It’s something that we’re proud of, and we strive year on year to keep it that way. Our difference lies in the cutting-edge technology our students have at their fingertips. It lies in our commitment to personal development as well as academic excellence, with dedicated staff at the top of their fields, who inspire students. It lies in the eclectic mix of students from across the world that study with us - all of which makes UCF an exciting and eye-opening place to study. UCF has a reputation across the design, media and art industries locally, nationally and internationally as a place to find innovation and the industry stars of the future. Whether in major competitions, or for employment, our students are highly sought after and successful in their chosen pursuits. Finally, the difference with us lies in one simple word – Cornwall. Vibrant, beautiful and always changing, it is the perfect location for a university college that prides itself on standing out from the crowd, it can’t be beaten.

The College

UCF is a specialist provider of creative industries courses in design, media and art from pre-degree to PhD. After the merger with Dartington College of Arts in 2008, we will also be providing a range or performing arts courses. University College Falmouth has two campuses: Woodlane in Falmouth and Tremough, about 20 minutes away, near Penryn. Many students in Falmouth live within easy walking distance of Woodlane, and there are frequent bus services to both campuses. The Dartington Campus will come on stream from January 2008.

Student Life

Life here is a breeze, like a breath of fresh air across the azure blue. Our diverse community of students enjoy a quality of life that is richly stimulating. Yes, we are based in two small towns in the deep south west – but this is our attraction – we offer a truly distinctive environment for life and creative industries studies.

Careers

We have an excellent careers record at Falmouth. Our website has a long list of typical graduate profiles that will give you a taste of the career opportunities offered by the College. We also have a full careers guidance service for all of our students.

Cornwall

Look at a map, and Cornwall is almost a separate country – surrounded by water, defined by its sub-tropical climate. It is home to an exceptional number of writers, artists and designer-makers. They have been drawn here by the clear skies and open landscapes, by the need to find a distinct physical and mental space in which to think and to create.
