Newcastle University is located in the North East of England, and is one of the UK’s leading institutions. It has a student population of 17,784 with over 100 nationalities represented. Currently 50 students from the USA study at Newcastle University. The university campus is based in the centre of Newcastle, which is one of the liveliest, friendliest and cosmopolitan places in the country, as well as having a low cost of living. Newcastle is also one of the safest cities to live in the UK. The city has rail links to all the major cities in the UK, and an international Airport which means that other European destinations are easily accessible. 

 

Programs

We offer Taught Undergraduate Bachelor Degree Programs and Postgraduate Masters Degree Programs. We produce an impressive range of Research at Newcastle, much of it internationally acclaimed. Typically, our undergraduate and PhD programs are 3 years long and our Masters programs one year long - allowing you to fast track into employment.

  We offer an extensive semester/year long Study Abroad program, with courses in most subject areas including Pre-Med together with an International Summer School (this has an internship). 

 

Student Life

Of course it’s not all study! The University has a lively social life, with a very active Student Union offering a large number of clubs and societies for students to join as well as managing a number of social venues for students to take advantage of. Newcastle is one of the top 10 universities for sport in the country, both in terms of performance and facilities. Student Community Action (SCAN) provides students with the opportunity to become involved in a wide range of community based projects from mentoring and advocacy to working with children and the elderly.

Newcastle fully deserves its reputation as a great student city and, whether you are with us for a single semester or several years, there is plenty to do to get the most from your time here. Accommodation Guaranteed

International students in their first year of studies, who are here for a full academic year, are guaranteed places in accommodation, provided they return their accommodation application form by the specified deadline.

 

Scholarships

The University is able to offer a large number of scholarships to international students. These scholarships are based on academic merit and the value of the award may vary depending on your choice of program. We are pleased to receive award holders through funding schemes such as Marshall Scholarships and Fulbright Scholars.
