The University of East Anglia (UEA) is a campus university set in over 300 acres of rolling parkland just two miles from the famous historical city of Norwich. With internationally renowned faculties of study in Arts and Humanities, Health, Science and Social Science, the university enjoys worldwide recognition for its academic achievements and attracts students from over 100 countries to study on campus. The campus is compact with all teaching, research and accommodation within a few minutes walk of each other. In 2006 it was voted joint first mainstream English university for student satisfaction, and was also shortlisted as University of the Year by a leading newspaper.

 

UEA was the first UK university to launch a Creative Writing MA. Many well-known writers have graduated from or taught on the prestigious course, launched in 1970 by Sir Malcolm Bradbury and Angus Wilson, including Angela Carter, Ian McEwan, Andrew Motion, Rose Tremain and Tracey Chevalier.

 

The University introduced the UK’s first School of Environmental Sciences in 1967 – a department described by Professor Sir David King, the Chief Scientific Adviser to the UK Government as “the strongest in the world.
