Experience Roehampton

The foundation of your university life is the academic experience – what you learn in the classroom, in tutorials, in laboratories and other activities. Many of our teaching staff have international reputations for their research and are working at the cutting edge of their subject, which means that students benefit from the latest thinking in their disciplines.

But there’s excitement outside the classroom too. At Roehampton we encourage you to take full advantage of everything on offer – sports, clubs and student societies. You will be exposed to new cultures, make new friends, and be part of a friendly and inclusive community. Jump in!

Open Spaces

Roehampton University’s open spaces in south-west London provide the best of both worlds. Walk through the beautiful campus grounds and find a quiet spot to study beneath a tree. We are also located just a short walk from Richmond Park, which boasts almost 2500 acres of woodlands, ponds, gardens and grasslands, as well as around 650 free-roaming deer.

When you crave a faster pace, central London is at your doorstep. One of the world’s most spectacular cities, London has something for everyone. Whether your passion is food, architecture, music, drama, sport, archaeology or cinema, you will find the world’s best in London.

Open Minds

Roehampton offers a wealth of opportunities to expand your knowledge of the world around you. The social life on campus includes a range of student societies and clubs devoted to a broad spectrum of interests. Whether your interest is comic books or Japanese culture, Amnesty International or drama – there’s a club for you. And if you can’t find a society that caters to your particular passion, you can start your own!

If you’re looking for a place to meet friends and talk, there are nine different bars, cafes and restaurants on campus, offering a variety of food and drink at affordable prices and late openings. Home away from home Roehampton University is home to 1,200 international students from countries as varied as Ecuador, Japan, Norway, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Australia.

The international students on Roehampton’s campuses enrich the learning and social experience for other international students as well as for students from the UK. Most international students live on campus in one of our four Colleges, enjoying the close proximity to their classes and making friends with fellow residents.
