Across the Pond's creative and innovative approach to student recruitment is inspired by the combined personal and professional experiences of its founders; through their expertise in international study, research, public relations and careers counselling.

John C. Borhaug is from Norway and earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism in Britain. He also holds an American M.S. in Journalism and an M.A. in Political Science. John has worked in a variety of communications and research positions in universities and media organizations in the U.S., Norway, Bosnia and the UK.

Hannah Liscombe is from the UK, and has extensive higher education administration experience in both the U.K and U.S., specializing in student development and careers counselling. Hannah holds a BA degree in American studies from the University of Wales, Swansea and an American M.A. in Political Science from Ohio University. 

Lauren Spalding comes from the west coast of the US, namely California and Oregon.   She earned her BA in American Studies from Scripps College in Claremont, CA and holds an MA in Linguistics from University College London in the UK.   Lauren has a strong background in international education both firsthand, and as a student adviser.         

Andrea Colquhoun hails from Texas. She earned a BBA in Marketing from Texas Woman’s University where she was highly involved in Student Affairs. She has a solid background working with international students and will soon begin work on her MA in Counseling.
